We live in a world with seasons. Some are different than others, depending on where you are in the world. But wherever you reside, you know when the seasons are changing. There’s a difference in temperature, and the breeze brings with it a crisp scent that carries new beginnings. There’s something about the change of seasons that makes you nostalgic, yet at the same time there’s something inside of you that wants to avoid the fact that change is coming.
It is a part of our human nature to be afraid of change. No matter our personality type, whether we’re super adventurous or somewhat reserved, there is always that tiny thing inside of us that doesn’t want to accept change.
Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
Change throws us off of our routine. It can be scary, and it can certainly be challenging. But change is not all bad. You’ve probably heard the cliché saying that “when one door closes, another one opens.” Another door won’t open unless we open it.
Like the verse in Hebrews says, we know that Jesus stays the same. And when we believe that, we have nothing to fear about what is to come. We have nothing to fear about the new seasons in our lives. Through out all the change that goes on in our lives, we can hold tight to the truth that one thing stays the same. One thing is constant through every change. Jesus Christ.
