Last weekend we had the privilege of hosting our first get-together with our readers and creative team! Today we'll be recapping the workshop and later posting a mini-tutorial on how to make your own terrarium at home!
If you make one and want to share it with us on social media, use the hashtag #oakmossworkshop because we'd love to see what you create! In addition, sign up for our newsletter to get monthly Oakmoss updates as well as a fun print out for plant care.
Usually my Saturday mornings start out with taking forever to get out of bed and then having a cup of coffee and enjoying the birds singing as I sit on my back patio. This specific Saturday morning however started out with baking, prepping, and set up for Oakmoss's first get-together! The sun was shining, the sky was a beautiful powder blue, and the air held the scent of warmth.
The workshop was held at the Harper household, a beautiful hidden gem on a road mostly made of cornfields. As you pull onto their property, you're instantly greeted by a beautiful garden and spacious patio for mingling. Let me quickly take a second to thank them for their hospitality! It was such a beautiful afternoon and without Jordan and Cherise's hospitality it wouldn't have been possible.
When the guests arrived, we enjoyed a delicious brunch. The drink menu included coffee, iced chai, lemon ginger iced tea, and water. Our brunch selection was made up of fruit salad, sweet potato spice muffins, gluten free chocolate chip scones, asiago + asparagus frittatas, and the most delicious sugar cookies topped with fresh berries. The perfect way to start any sort of gathering.
After we ate and mingled for some time, we made our way over to the terrarium "station." Everything flowed smoothly and we all made our own unique terrariums to bring home with us. It was such a great feeling to see everyone enjoying each other's company and creating together. Do you ever have those moments where you try something you've never done before like public speaking or hosting a dinner in your home? You get this excited, yet slightly nervous feeling because you want to do it but you're new + you're not sure how it'll turn out. Well that is exactly how I was feeling, but things went so smoothly and we all left with new friends + new terrariums!
It was such a beautiful day and I cannot wait until we can have another get-together again. Maybe a big dinner? Maybe a fun coffee date? What are some of your ideas? We'd love to hear them. Be sure to sign up for the newsletter to get your freebie print out of plant care tips too!
