Exciting news! Things are all set and ready to go for our 2nd annual Small Business Owners Dinner. For those of you who aren't a part of our social media following or newsletter subscribers, this may be news to you, but we wanted to make sure that everyone in our little community gets invited!
This year it'll be held in Lancaster, Pa on April 15th at the wonderful location of Hingework. We were getting a few questions about the dinner and who its for and what the purpose is, so I felt like it would be a nice idea to write a post with some FAQ's and photos from last year's dinner.
The whole idea behind this yearly dinner is to get people together who either own a small business, work closely with small businesses, have a creative passion that they're actively pursuing, or want to get in touch with more small business owners/creatives for partnerships and community growth. Sometimes starting a business can be tricky and sometimes it can be defeating if you don't have a community to back you up or to lean on. Coming to this dinner will give you the opportunity to meet new people and make some connections and friends!
1. I went last year. Can I attend again this year?
Absolutely! The menu will be different, the location will be different, the giveaway items and goody bags will be different, etc. We will try our best every year to give a unique experience to attendees all with the same purpose; celebrating and promoting the creative community!
2. Is there assigned seating?
Nope! If you come with friends or co-workers you can all try to get a table together. If you come alone, you can decide where to sit and who to have dinner with. The purpose of the event is for you to meet new people, but we aren't going to force you to sit anywhere specific.
3. Will my picture be taken?
Yes! So, this year we will have 3 different photo ops. The first being candids that our team photographer will be taking to document the event. The second will be in front of some of the beautiful decor and wall art that we'll have hanging up (bring your cell phone, camera, etc. for these pictures!) and the third will be optional headshots that Ballantyne Media will be offering during the event. These will then be digitally delivered to you after editing for your own personal use!
4. Can I bring my kids?
We completely understand you wanting to bring your kids, however because we are renting the event space (liability) we would ask that you leave them at home with a sitter/other parent.
5. Do I need to bring anything?
An appetite, a smile, and some business cards!
6. Do I have to pay for parking?
The event space has a small parking lot that will probably fill up very quickly. You can choose to do street parking, or there find a parking garage not far from Hingework (Vine Street or Prince Street). The parking garages will charge you, but there is no payment for street parking on Sundays.
7. Who is the guest speaker for 2018?
In addition to our founder, Natalie, and a few 5 minute slots for our sponsors, we are so excited to announce that Char from Char Co. will be speaking about community + business! She is such an inspiration and her business has done so much for other local businesses. Check out their website here.
If you have any other questions, please email us or join the Facebook event and post there. We hope to see you at this year's Small Business Owners Dinner! Get your ticket here before they sell out.
