During the holiday season, some of the most cherished moments are swapping gifts with loved ones. Whether it’s a Secret Santa gift exchange at work or a family Christmas party, giving gifts is such a special time of the year. When you’ve finally crossed out all the gifts on your shopping list, you want a quick, simple, and cheap way to decorate your gifts! By using things you already have around the house, and grabbing a few things at the local dollar store, you will be all set to decorate your gifts before Christmas!
I grabbed a package of bells from the dollar store – 9 were one dollar, and I saw a package of fifty small ones for only a dollar as well! Craft stores will also have a variety of sizes and colors. By using yarn or twine, tying a bell onto the Christmas gift is a simple way to make your packages festive!
Old Christmas Cards
Dig out old Christmas cards and holiday gift bags. On the inside of an envelope I received last year was a fun, glitter paper. I cut out that envelope and turned that glitter paper into name tags for my gifts. Using post cards, calendar pictures, or scrapbook pages are also great, unique ways to label packages.
You don’t have to have the best handwriting to make your Christmas packages charming. Writing your friends and family’s names in loopy, cursive, or fun handwriting is the simplest way to decorate the wrapping paper. Not only is it easy but it looks so special!
Candy is a fun way to decorate your Christmas presents. It can be traditional Christmas candy such as peppermints or chocolates, or it can be more unique, such as the person’s favorite candy bar or a wrapped homemade cookie. I chose to tie on a piece of salt-water taffy! This is especially great for wrapping presents for kids.
There are countless things you could do to decorate your gifts! You could tie on ornaments, experiment with different color yarns, or attach a pretty bow. You could also decorate the wrapping paper with stamps or stickers, which is a fun way to get the kids involved! Try our DIY stamped wrapping paper for a personal touch thats also really fun to make, too!
Adding these little details is a simple, cheap way to show your friends and family just how much they mean to you!
