You've made it. The cheerleader by the sidelines, the biggest fan in the stands, the simple reminder that the weekend is near, the middle of the week. It's Wednesday. Wednesday is a wonderful day and often brings me excitement as it approaches. Why, you may ask? Well, I look forward to Wednesday because then I can look forward to Friday, aka the weekend, aka a time of rest and exploration and adventure and beauty. Birthday parties, and sleeping in past the alarm; wearing your pjs all afternoon and making a trip to the park; Sunday morning worship and afternoon naps; the weekend is the gem that keeps us all shining.
So here we are, on a Wednesday, waiting ever so anxiously for Friday. For me, I've made Wednesday somewhat like a small-scale, personal holiday. I make sure that I am extra kind to myself on Wednesdays. I make sure that I treat myself to something sweet after lunch if I am in the mood. Wednesday is the day that I try to enjoy myself because I know that there are only a few more days until the week's end. One thing that I particularly love about Wednesdays is that I make myself a good cup of coffee. (Now that I am married, Mark likes to make coffee in a pour over or french press nearly every day so I've been getting special treatment) but up until this point, Wednesdays were my special coffee days. Maybe a new flavored creamer, or a special brew method, or even an entirely new brand of coffee beans to try out!
Today, it's raining. I let myself lie in bed for an extra ten minutes, and then I hopped out of bed to start making that beautiful, anticipated cup of coffee. Today, I am trying a single origin from My Coffeeism that was grown and roasted in Rwanda. It was delicious! Enjoy this photo journal of my little coffee experience and be sure to make yourself some coffee too.
