Hey Oakmoss Collective Community!
I hope you're all doing well and ready to bring in the New Year with joy and fervor. It seems as if everywhere I look there's a post or comment about how 2016 was a bad year and we all can't wait for it to end. At first, I was riding right along on this bandwagon. So many great actors and actresses and musicians died. So many people that shaped our culture were taken away so early in their lives. And then there were all my failures and shortcomings this year; who wants to look back on those?
But if I linger a second longer I realize that 2016 held so many good things as well. Oakmoss Collective officially became an LLC. We opened up our shop and created a core team of creatives to bring you words, photos, and workshops to help fuel your creativity!
We have so many goals and dreams for the upcoming year and can't wait to get started, but we need YOUR help. Your support through the shop, through readership and commenting, and through attendance of our events helps us get to know you and grow our community even more. We look forward to sending our reader surveys in the next week or so and get your opinions; we want to hear YOUR VOICE!
As a special treat for our readers, we want to offer Free Shipping on everything in our shop until January 4th with the code "2017". Plus, take a peek at our 2017 goals!
-Be more attentive and engaging in our community and events. This means online events and workshops as well as in person, and more collaborations in the journal with other writers.
-Small Business Owners meet and greet dinner, coming February 2017. Ticket sales begin January 20th. More info to come soon!
-Start mapping out the Oakmoss Collective Journal for print (coming end of 2017/start of 2018)!!!
-More small business interviews on our site and social media.
-Add more products like t-shirts and other mugs, apparel, and candles to the shop!
Thank you so much for your continued support and collaboration over the last year. Stay tuned for great things to come! Happy New Year!
Farewell 2016. Much love,
Natalie Jean - Founder of Oakmoss Collective
