Today I wanted to share a few tips that might help you the next time you travel overseas. I recently got back from a trip to Paris with Jessica and it was amazing (more posts on that to come). There were a few things I learned quickly when our adventure started, things that I need to share so you don't make the same travel mistakes I did!
These tips pertain to the journey itself. You know... planes, trains, and automobiles? If you know you're going to have a layover or a really long drive/flight (like 8+ hours) ahead, then it is important to prepare accordingly. I tried my best but after a 10 hour flight and then a 16 hour layover and then another flight for 3 more hours, I realized the importance of a few things. Like a toothbrush and face wipes. No, I didn't forget to bring a toothbrush and face wipes on a 3 week trip to France... I just forget that they were in my checked luggage and not in my carry-on. Oops. The first tip I want to share with you is to MAKE A LIST. Be sure that you go over it 2-3 times and think of everything you might need during that long flight/layover. Being without a toothbrush or a pillow is definitely not a way you want to begin your travels.
The second tip that I urge you to listen to is to download Spotify Premium (even just for the trip) and make a few playlists that will get you through the flight. Spotify Premium allows you to make offline playlists so you can listen to music, even when you're thousands of feet in the air! I made a playlist that really got me through most of my flight and made me excited to land in France all the more. I've shared it below for you, too.
The third tip I would like to share is to make sure you pack some snacks. There were about 5 separate times when I wanted a snack and either didn't feel comfortable paying for expensive airport food or wasn't sure what in the world I was eating. Packing 1 or 2 snacks that you know you like and won't go bad in your bag is a great idea! Personally, I was craving Goldfish and mixed nuts on our trip so they would have been great add-ins for my carry on bag. Next time friends, I'll have those in abundance!
