Life can get so crazy. All the time I get lost in the mundane, day to day. I focus more on checking things off my to-do list than anything else. Can anyone relate? It’s hard to actually sit down and enjoy our surroundings when it’s something we see everyday.
Nature is such a blessing and I take it for granted all the time. I go to school in the beautiful mountains and then I go home to the beach. I’m surrounded by nature and get more distracted by my phone than the waves at the beach.
Getting lost in nature can be a challenge. It’s hard to slow down and enjoy it. God created nature for us to enjoy it, so why are we so quick to skim over it? Here are my three go-to tips to slow down and enjoy the creation around us.
Leave your phone at home or put it on airplane mode. Spend time outside without the distractions of your busy life.
2. Use your senses
Close your eyes. Take off your shoes. Listen to your surroundings. Breath deeply. I love using something different than my eyes to explore God’s Creation.
3. Don’t plan
Don’t plan getting lost in nature. It’ll happen on it’s own.
So the next time you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or simply lacking in inspiration, go outside and enjoy the nature and get lost in it.
