Oakmoss Collective has had the wonderful opportunity to reach out and meet all kinds of people, and we've only just begun! Today we are featuring an interview with Eryn Eddy, the founder of So Worth Loving. SWL is such an inspiration to a collective like ours because it's all about believing in people and loving yourself and who you are, as well as loving others. Thank you for your time to this interview Eryn! Be sure to check out So Worth Loving and leave your comments below!
Oakmoss: Tell us a little bit about yourself and about So Worth Loving.
Eryn: So Worth Loving is lifestyle clothing company that I founded in 2011. We at So Worth Loving are devoted to promoting self worth through apparel and other goods that will remind you that no matter your history, past mistakes, relationship status, or career choice -- you are worth love.
OM: Would you say that you've finally gotten then knack of things or is there more to learn with running this company?
E: In the beginning, I really struggled with my identity in my company, as well as being a woman entrepreneur; it was hard for me to take on the title of "Creator" or "Founder" without feeling arrogant. I had to learn to start taking myself more seriously. Its a process and I just take it day by day.
OM: What is one area in your life that you've seen yourself growing in lately?
E: Well, I didn't exactly set out to start a business. It's taught me a lot about my own strengths and weaknesses as a person, and really pushed me to take on a position I never really saw myself being in-- a role model. So Worth Loving has also really extended my circle of friends and connections; I've had so many opportunities to meet so many wonderful people and hear their stories. So Worth Loving has just really broadened my idea of myself as a person, as well as my social circle.
OM: What is your favorite SWL product?
E: That's a hard one. I don't think I can pick however I will say that every new product we release is my favorite. It's refreshing and it seems our designs and brand continue to get stronger the more we grow!
OM: Any new things coming to SWL anytime soon? (If you're able to share)
E: A lot of exciting things in the works! One being new product in the next couple of weeks! We are also currently moving offices and opening a retail space this fall! Details to come soon!
OM: How do you incorporate authentic living and simplicity in your own life?
E: I love this question! I think I recognized that having a balanced lifestyle with healthy relationships is the best thing you can do for yourself in general but even more so when you are held accoutnable to your staff. My team is my family. We do life together. We see the good days and the bad. In order to succeed you have no option but to live a life of balance. It's hard when you love what you do but surrounding yourself with people that have that same standard is key.
OM: What's one message that you want Oakmoss readers to hear?
E: I've had a lot of no's. Mean hard hurtful no's. The internet can make any successful business appear that they only had yes's but I want to let the dreamers and doers know that no's are normal. They build tougher skin and allow you to appreciate the small victories. If you have received a NO in your life don't let that be something that shuts down what you are actively working toward. We are presented options so we may learn discernment and sometimes that is all the option served as.
Also, did I mention that I adore her dog Sprocket? He is seriously the cutest and has such a little attitude in all his photos. I love it!
